Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:

Emergency Room Nurse in Alexandria, Virginia. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a busy community ER and stroke center. The role requires working night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with a focus on delivering comprehensive patient management for a diverse patient population. The selected candidate will join a dedicated team committed to exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, working 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association are required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting is preferred; candidates must be able to work night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for adult and pediatric patients in an emergency environment. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume ER.
• Additional Information: This role involves treating a wide variety of conditions in a community emergency room that manages stroke and other critical cases. The team operates with flexible weekend scheduling, typically requiring 5-6 weekend shifts every six weeks, and accommodates holiday staffing, including one major and one minor holiday per year. No on-call responsibilities are required, although staff may choose to pick up additional shifts. Epic electronic health record access is necessary.
