Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:

Emergency Room Nurse in Alexandria, Virginia. This position involves providing patient care in a busy community emergency room that handles a wide range of cases, including stroke and various trauma patients. • Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications from the American Heart Association; 2+ years of experience in emergency nursing; ability to work in a community adult and pediatric emergency room setting
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a stroke center and handling diverse patient cases
• Float: Float: None; staff will not be required to float during shifts
• Holidays: One major and one minor holiday per year
• Additional Information: This role involves working in a busy community emergency room with 27 beds and a patient ratio of approximately 4:1, occasionally stretching to 5:1 during peak times. Weekend shifts are variable, with 5-6 shifts every six weeks. The candidate must have access to Epic EHR system and complete required Epic modules. No on-call duties are required, but staff may volunteer for extra shifts. Scrubs are navy blue.
