Registered Nurse / Psychiatric Unit

Job Summary
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / Behavioral Health Nurse - Tallahassee, FL. This role involves providing mental health services within a Behavioral Health Center on an adult unit. The position requires float coverage across multiple units, including adult, child/adolescent, and adult acute access units. The provider will work eight-hour daytime shifts, every other weekend, with orientation scheduled every Monday. Prior travel experience is not required.

Job Details

• Schedule: 8-hour days, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Florida (or compact) license, and a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience. At least 1-3 years of behavioral health experience and charge nurse experience are required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience (not required), electrocardiogram (ECG) training, and additional behavioral health certifications are a plus.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to work across all behavioral health units as needed.
• Additional Information: The assignment begins on 08/17/2026. Candidates will undergo EPIC training during the second half of the team orientation, with testing available to potentially test out of full training. Prior experience with electronic medical records and experience in trauma or stroke centers is beneficial.
