Operating Room Tech / Certified Sterile Processing Technician

Job Summary:
Certified Sterile Processing Technician position in Sonora, California. The role involves processing and sterilizing surgical and hospital instruments and equipment, assembling instrument sets, and distributing patient care supplies. The technician will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and support various departments to ensure medical sterilization processes adhere to safety and quality standards.
Job Details:
- Shift: Rotating, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: High School Education or GED; Associates or Technical Degree preferred; Sterile Processing Technician certification required
- Essential Functions: Decontaminates and processes instruments, compiles instrument sets, records counts, sterilizes instruments using appropriate exposure and dry times, and maintains a clean environment within the department. Assists with room turnover, terminal cleaning, and supply/instrument picking for upcoming cases. Performs daily diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment and evaluates instrument functionality and safety. Provides reprocessing services for ancillary departments and maintains logs for loaner instruments and biological testing. Works closely with various hospital departments and reports to the perioperative services manager.
