Job Summary:
Operating Room Nurse in Kyle, Texas. This position involves delivering professional nursing care within a busy Level II trauma center`s operative setting. The role requires performing scrub and circulating functions during surgical procedures, assisting physicians, and preparing operating rooms and equipment. Candidates must be able to work in a high-pressure environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse credential from the Texas Board of Nursing, licensure at the time of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire; within 6 months of hire, Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification from a recognized provider such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in orthopedics, trauma, general gynecology, urology, robotics procedures such as DaVinci, vascular, and cardiovascular operating room specialties.
- Responsibilities include performing scrub and circulating functions, assisting physicians with surgical tasks, preparing surgical instruments and equipment, and maintaining patient care standards.
- The unit operates with ancillary staff including PCTS, three supervisors, and team leads. The scrub color code is sky blue, with no float units required.
- The facility utilizes the Cerner electronic medical record system.
