Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Specialty in Open Heart procedures located in Prescott, Arizona. This position involves performing complex surgical cases within the main surgery suite, with a focus on cardiac and vascular surgeries. The role requires a skilled registered nurse (RN) or surgical technologist with experience in open heart surgical environments.
Job Details
- Shift Schedule: Days shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: ACLS and BLS certification; at least 2 years of full-time experience in a surgical operating room environment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with total joints, general surgery, spine, uro, CV (cardiovascular) procedures, and working within open heart teams.
- Experience or Must-have skills: Minimum of 2 years of full-time OR experience; scrubbing experience required.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to assist with delivering food trays, sitting with patients, etc., but it is very rare for a traveler to float to other procedural areas such as Preoperative or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit.
- Additional Information: The surgical unit handles 20-30 cases per day, including total joints, general surgery, spine, uro, and cardiovascular procedures. The team includes charge nurses, specialty leads, evening house supervisors, and scrub techs, with a 24/7 presence of house supervisors on-site. The EMR system used is Cerner. Orientation typically lasts 3-5 shifts, depending on case load and exposure.
