Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is sought for a facility located in Rockford, Illinois. The position involves providing care to cardiac patients, including those recovering from open hearts, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), Watchman procedures, and post-cardiac surgery patients. The role includes managing a pod of eight patients in an IMCU setting, with responsibilities for patients requiring titrating drips, BiPAP, DKA, and CIWA protocols. The shift is rotating, with scheduled hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every third weekend and rotating holidays.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 12-hour shift times from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, 1 year of experience in a cardiac or IMCU setting, ability to work in the United States, working knowledge of post-cardiac patient care, and willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with open heart surgery, TAVR, Watchman, and post-cardiac procedure patients; familiarity with titrating drips, BiPAP, DKA, and CIWA protocols.
- Additional Information: The position involves caring for patients with diverse acute cardiac conditions, including new bipap, DKA, and CIWA. The environment is a pod with eight patients, requiring effective patient management and coordination. No RQI certifications needed.
