Job Summary:
The Nursing Specialist in the Step Down Unit is a registered nurse responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a specialized care setting. This role involves managing patient activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and demonstrating leadership to ensure positive patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The position emphasizes establishing strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Nursing degree (RN), at least 2 years of experience, valid license as a registered nurse, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and compliance with PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Additional Information: The nurse will utilize research and evidence-based practices to support clinical improvements, apply the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care, and provide detailed patient education and teaching to patients and families. Collaboration, adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to safety are key components of this role.
