Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary
The Healthcare Professional, specialized in Medical Surgical Nursing, is based in Altoona, PA. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care within a Medical Surgical Floor setting, supporting the organizations standards for clinical excellence and patient-centered care. The nurse will be responsible for managing patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, communication, and collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, 2 years of nursing experience,Valid Pennsylvania RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 certifications.
• Preferred Qualifications: Additional relevant certifications or clinical training relevant to Medical Surgical Nursing.
• Additional Information: The position involves active participation in quality improvement efforts, implementation of research and evidence-based practices, and providing detailed patient education and communication. The nurse will serve as a fully engaged team member, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to patient and team needs. Teaching experience with adult patients and families is valued, along with strong relationship-building skills and cultural competence. The role requires adherence to professional standards and organizational competencies.
