Registered Nurse / Operating Room (First Assistant)

Job Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room First Assistant in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. This position involves supporting surgical teams in a busy operating environment, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficacy. The role requires a certified perioperative nurse with recent OR experience, primarily working daytime shifts.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Days
  • Schedule: 10 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Start Date: 08/31/2026
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Two years of current operating room experience
    • Massachusetts Registered Nurse license (must be uploaded with profile)
    • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification (active/current)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (active/current)
    • Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred
    • Reside more than 50 miles from the facility
    • Must have own vehicle
    • All schedules requested at submission; schedule changes after offer are not approved
    • Must include Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) in profile upload
    • Must include permanent address in profile
    • Must have 2 years current experience
    • Must be available to interview on two specific dates/times, added to the profile
    • Voicemail set up on phone; travelers without voicemail will be redirected
    • No more than 5 days of return to off (RTO) requested, noted during submission
    • All RTO requests must be included in profile
    • Any/all RTO requests must be included in the profile; requests after offer may lead to rescinding
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Operating Room and First Assist skills (pertinent to position)
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit size: 8 beds
    • Dress code: Facility-provided scrubs
    • Call: 4/hour; call-back, holiday, and overtime multipliers at 1.25
    • Certification requirements: CNOR, BLS from AHA (active/current)
    • On call: by rotation
    • Weekend/Holiday coverage as needed (TBD)
