Registered Nurse / Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves providing specialized critical care for high-acuity neonates within a Level IV NICU. The nurse will deliver comprehensive patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring family-centered support for the most vulnerable pediatric patients.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week, with shifts starting between 7:00 am-7:30 pm and 7:00 pm-7:30 am, including work 2-3 weekends per 6-week cycle.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin registered nurse (RN) license or a valid compact license, at least 2 years of total Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience including a minimum of 1 year in a Level IV NICU. Must have experience with post-operative patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive and non-invasive ventilation. Certifications required are Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Epic electronic health record experience is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, NICU III experience, and PALS certification are advantageous.
  • Additional Information: Must pass strict pass/fail telemetry exams, including adult and pediatric cardiac rhythms, with two attempts allowed. The unit cares for neonates less than 12 months of age, including those requiring complex surgical and medical management. Float to other pediatric units, including Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), is required as needed, with travel accommodations.
