Job Summary
A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) is sought for a position at a healthcare facility in Baltimore, Maryland. This role involves providing specialized care for neonatal patients, including neonates, infants, and pediatric populations, with a focus on critically ill newborns. The position offers a rotating shift schedule accommodating both day and night shifts, ensuring comprehensive pediatric and neonatal patient care.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: RN license for Maryland or a valid Compact license; BLS certification; CPI certification; 2 years of NICU experience; 0 years of minimum experience; experience with trach/vent management, neonatal phototherapy, and neonatal critical procedures
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech charting system; previous community hospital or NICU experience; certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP preferred
- Float: Float within scope as needed; float rotation may be required
- Additional Information: The role involves caring for a daily census of approximately 32 neonates, infants, and pediatric patients with diagnoses including prematurity, AOP, ROP, BLD/CLD, cardiac defects, feeding issues, NAS, and iatrogenic NAS. The unit is equipped for special procedures with tracheostomy and ventilator management, PICCs/central lines, TPN/ILs, and specialized neonatal equipment. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working within a multidisciplinary team and adaptable to the dynamic nature of neonatal intensive care.
