Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart Surgical Technologist position based in Palo Alto, California. This role involves assisting in cardiac surgery and thoracic vascular procedures, providing essential support to the surgical team throughout complex operations. The technologist will prepare instrumentation, maintain sterile technique, and anticipate surgeon needs in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Start date is 08/31/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal, structured program for Surgical Technology; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; minimum of 3 years of experience in Operating Room Open Heart, Cardiac Surgery, or Thoracic Vascular specialties; candidate must have CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cardiac Surgery, Open Heart, and Thoracic Vascular procedures is required; ability to handle specimens and medications according to departmental policy; strong communication and sterile technique skills.
  • Additional Information: Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology, and maintain strict sterile technique during procedures. Call is required as part of the schedule. The assignment is urgent backfill, emphasizing the need for experienced candidates with CVOR background. All candidates should be available to start on 08/31/2026 and meet the listed qualifications.
