Registered Nurse / Emergency Room

Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Garden City, Kansas. This position involves providing high-quality care in a fast-paced ER environment with a focus on trauma, stroke, and STEMI patients. The role requires adaptability to float within a regional zone, ensuring comprehensive care across multiple ER locations.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 11.5 hours per shift, minimum of 34.5 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC; 2 years of experience; Kansas license required; may be needed for immediate start on 08/24/2026
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for patients with abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, hypertension; familiarity with standard ER medications and drips
• Floating: Float within region/zone`s ERs; float assignment will be communicated before the shift start date
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts; leadership will determine schedule based on operational needs; every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Orientation: 2-3 days of unit and department-specific training, to be completed onsite
• Additional Information:
  • Travel within a 60-mile radius, responsible for securing housing suitable for floating across multiple locations
  • No home base facility; all travelers are expected to float within Zone 4 based around Garden City, KS
  • Unit supports a trauma level STEMI receiving stroke center, with moderate patient volume averaging 6-49 patients/day
  • Nurse to patient ratios vary between 1:4 and 1:5 based on acuity
  • Support staff includes techs, nurse aids, EMTs, paramedics, and unit clerks
  • RNs may be required to interpret telemedicine monitors and perform point-of-care lab testing
