Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves providing specialized patient care for individuals with cardiac diagnoses, chest pain, and general medical conditions. The RN will work in a 30-bed unit, managing a diverse patient population with acute needs within a mixed acuity environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a registered nurse in a PCU setting; active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications; must possess a valid nursing license in Kentucky.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IV starts, tube management (chest, JP drains, hemovacs), oral care, dressing changes, wound care, drips, CIWA, and COWS; supportive within the department with PCA/CNA support, HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomist, RT 24/7, and hospitalist 24/7.
• Technology/Equipment: EMR system: Cerner; IV pumps: Plum 360; medication dispensing: Omnicell; monitors: Phillips; unit-specific equipment as needed.
• Floating: Floating to mixed acuity units within scope of practice, if necessary.
• Orientation: Must complete a 1-shift orientation on the floor.
• Additional notes: Scrub color is Galaxy Blue; parking provided free of charge.
• Start Date: 08/24/2026
