Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
An opportunity exists for experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurses in Summit, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized critical care to a variety of patient diagnoses, including respiratory, cardiac, trauma, and surgical cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Summit, Wisconsin
• Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Shift Times: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM and 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Schedule cycle: Made in 6-week increments
• Schedule: Nights (07:00 PM - 07:00 AM) for 12 hours, minimum 36 hours per week
• Relevant experience: 2 years ICU experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required), TNCC (preferred)
• Skills required: Ventilation/Trach management, tube/drain management, chest tubes, invasive line management (arterial line, CVP), cardiac rhythm interpretation (read and measure strips), surgical recovery, medication titration (sedation, pressors, cardiac, pain, paralytics), EPIC electronic medical record experience, abdominal pressure monitoring, EVDs, CVVH, IABP
• Support within the department: Charge RN typically manages patient assignment; 1-2 CNA per shift; bedside/centralized tele monitor; HUC on day shift; Break Buddy support; RT, Hospitalists, Intensivist, OT/PT/ST available 24/7
• Technology/Equipment: EPIC EMR (required), Alaris infusion pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, monitors, and unit-specific equipment
• Floating: Floating within hospital scope of practice and below; first float to other units possible with 1:4 patient ratio
• Orientation: 2 days including preceptor training and unit familiarization
• Other notes: Scrub color is professional solid color; free parking in designated areas; holiday expectation of 1 per contract; approval of up to 7 days off for RTO
