Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Springfield, Massachusetts. This role involves working within a comprehensive Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Neuro Critical Care Units, focusing on critically ill patients. The ICU nurse will provide specialized care, often in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to float across related units based on staffing needs.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid certifications including NIHSS, BLS, ACLS (All through the American Heart Association); 1+ years of experience in a Level 1 ICU or 2+ years in an ICU setting; preferred candidates have at least 1 year in a MICU environment; a minimum of 23 years of related experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Medical Intensive Care Units and Neuro Critical Care; strong ICU background with familiarity handling cases such as sepsis, ESRD, AKI requiring CRRT/CVVH, post-cardiac arrest care, and respiratory failure.
• Additional Information: The unit is a 32-bed MICU licensed for Neuro Critical Care patients, with staffing generally adequate to support high-quality patient care. Candidates should have a strong ICU background and advanced clinical skills; recent new graduates or those with only 1 year of experience may not be the best fit for this highly specialized environment.
