Registered Nurse / Step Down Unit

Job Summary:
A healthcare professional specializing in Step Down Units is sought for a facility located in Hastings, Nebraska. This role involves working in a unit that manages patients with various complex medical conditions, requiring experienced and adaptable nursing skills. The position offers a rotating shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, providing opportunities to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Position: Step Down Unit Nurse
• Location: Hastings, Nebraska
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/24/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice, BLS Certification, ACLS Certification, NIHSS Certification, PALS Certification, minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, experience in step-down or telemetry units preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chest tubes, arrhythmia identification, cardioversions, TEEs, post heart catheterization care, defibrillator use, pain management, PPE compliance, and titration of drips such as Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Lasix, electrolytes, dobutamine, and dopamine
• Shift Details: 12-hour shifts, day and night rotations, every other weekend; flexibility required for holiday work and occasional floating to Medical-Surgical units with full assignments
• Other Responsibilities: Read telemetry strips independently, manage shared equipment including CPAP and BiPAP, utilize tele/monitor techs, and adhere to dress code preferences (solid color scrubs, natural hair color)
• Orientation: Two days of nursing department orientation plus one shift on the floor
• Cancellation Policy: Up to 24 hours` notice prior to scheduled shifts without penalty
