Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Idaho Falls, ID. This position involves providing specialized critical care in a 29-bed ICU within a level 2 trauma center. The role requires delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, utilizing advanced skills such as ventilator management, ABG interpretation, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring. The assignment is scheduled for nights with a commitment of at least 36 hours per week.

Job Details

  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS (required). TNCC, NIH, ABLS all welcome.
  • Education & Experience: RN license, at least 1 year of ICU experience preferred; no minimum experience requirement specified.
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, three shifts per week, with every other weekend.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, ACLS certification, BLS certification, one year of ICU experience (or relevant clinical background), and appropriate physical and educational credentials.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, vasoactive drip titration, hemodynamic monitoring, and procedures such as intubations, central line placement, bronchoscopy, bedside tracheostomy, and PEG tube placement.
  • Additional Information: The ICU is part of a 29-bed general unit in a level 2 trauma center, featuring a heart program with about 200 cases annually, CRRT, Impella, IABP, ECMO capabilities, and a burn center opened in April 2019. The team has an average of 12 years of ICU experience.
  • Floating Policy: Travelers may float first to Emergency Department (ED) or step-down units depending on staffing needs.
  • On Call Expectations: Only when census drops significantly, otherwise no call required.
