Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor

Job Summary:
Rehabilitation Medical-Surgical Nurse in Windsor, Vermont. This position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from surgery, serious illness, or injury, with a focus on restoring function and independence through therapies and medical management. The role requires coordination of patient care, leadership in clinical settings, and participation in patient and family teaching.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/31/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Vermont RN license or Compact license, 2 years recent Medical Surgical Rehabilitation (MS REHAB) experience, BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, previous travel experience of at least 3 months, must be willing to float to other units as needed within scope of practice, and must include traveler perm address in profile.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working on a Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor, previous charge nurse experience, and strong teamwork skills.
  • Additional Information:
    • May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse and to coordinate total nursing care for patients.
    • May float between acute rehab and medical-surgical units.
    • EMR system used is Cerner.
    • Nurse to patient ratio of 1 to 4/5, with an average daily census of 22.
    • Any/All RTO (Reason To Leave) requests must be included in the profile; scheduling requests should be made at the time of submission.
    • Local travelers residing within 50 miles are ineligible; candidates must have their own vehicle due to community transportation limitations.
    • Orientation period is 8 hours non-billable, and call-back, holiday, and overtime multipliers apply.
