Registered Nurse / Cardiac Cath Lab

Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Montrose, Colorado. This role involves working under direct supervision of a cardiologist to support procedures within the cath lab setting. The nurse will be responsible for patient education, monitoring during interventions, and ensuring the safe and effective completion of cardiac procedures.
Job Details:
- Shift: Monday through Thursday, Days, Call for four 10-hour shifts from 07:00 to 17:30
- Schedule: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Colorado RN license; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; Cath Lab experience preferred; IV conscious sedation experience preferred; minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with exercise stress testing and nuclear imaging stress testing; completion of a 12-lead ECG course; 10 hours of physician-led didactic time.
- Responsibilities: Explain procedures to patients, monitor and assess patient response during cardiac interventions, recognize and treat arrhythmias and complications, understand cardiovascular physiology, and ensure all protocols are followed for patient safety and testing accuracy.
- Additional Information: The RN must have knowledge of ECG interpretation, exercise physiology, pharmacology relevant to cardiology, and proper lead placement. Clinical skills to recognize indications and contraindications for testing, as well as the ability to manage emergent situations during procedures, are essential.
