Operating Room Tech / Sterile Processing Tech

Job Summary:
Grand Junction, Colorado The Sterile Processing Technician position involves assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and storing surgical trays, instruments, and medical equipment. The role supports the operational needs of the healthcare facility by ensuring sterilized supplies are ready and delivered efficiently to various departments within the hospital environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift with availability for 8-hour evening shifts, totaling a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Certifications: CRCST through HSPA or CBSPD required.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 0+ years of experience in sterile processing or hospital operating room preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to operate sterilization equipment, perform instrument assembly and cleaning, disinfect materials, track instruments, document procedures, and communicate effectively within a team. Proficiency in computer usage and familiarity with healthcare software is necessary.
  • Responsibilities include disassembling carts, following Universal Precautions for decontamination, maintaining records, responding to emergency cases, and providing on-the-job training to new staff.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and be on-call as needed, with potential for float to other departments based on operational needs.
