Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
An ICU Nurse position is available in Marion, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients in a step-down level of care within a 18-bed ICU unit. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois nursing license on the first day. The position offers a 12-hour night shift schedule, with an emphasis on strong neuro assessment skills, critical thinking, and adaptability.

Job Details:

  • Location: Marion, Illinois
  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Schedule: 36 hours per week minimum, with the possibility of 48 hours upon request
  • Required Qualifications: Current Illinois nursing license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; two years of ICU experience (prefer three), at least one travel assignment completed; associate degree or certification level education; valid Illinois license
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with tPA administration/assessments, massive transfusion protocols including Belmont, strong neuro assessment skills, and proficiency in tele/ECG interpretation, ETT/vent management, sedation titration, sepsis care, post-Return of Spontaneous Circulation (ROSC) therapeutic hypothermia protocols, and managing vasoactive medications
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend and holiday rotation
  • Additional Information: GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation week. Travelers are guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed. Experience includes working in a mixed ICU and step-down level of care with patient ratios of 2:1 and 3:1, respectively.
  • Certifications must be attached upon submission.
