Registered Nurse / Intermediate Care Unit

Job Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in St. Louis, Missouri. This position involves providing direct patient care in a specialized unit that manages adult patients requiring closely monitored, step-down level care. The RN will utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient needs, coordinate care, and promote positive patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 1900-0730, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Current RN license (meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri), BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, 1 year of inpatient experience in an Intermediate Care Unit or similar setting, and residence within the United States.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-operative cardiovascular surgical patients such as CABG and Valve procedures, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain.
  • Additional Information: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care, maintain patient rights and confidentiality, and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments. The role may require float to similar or lower acuity units as needed.
