Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (MS) on a Neuro floor located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This position involves delivering comprehensive nursing care, adhering to professional standards, and supporting patients with medical and surgical neuro conditions such as stroke, Parkinsons disease, lumbar issues, and others. The role requires engaging in patient education, care coordination, and ensuring safety and quality standards within a busy hospital environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; NIH (National Institutes of Health) certification (can be completed at orientation); minimum 1 year of nursing experience; current nursing license in state of practice; neuro and stroke experience highly preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neurological and stroke patient care; ability to handle medical and surgical neuro patients
• Float: Float rotation may be required to Medical Surgical and Progressive units
• Additional Information: Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with exemptions subject to client approval. The unit has 17 beds and a patient ratio of 1:6. Equipment includes IV pumps and other customary tools. EMR used is EPIC. The role involves patient assessments, medication administration, patient education, and coordination with healthcare team members. Candidates should demonstrate good communication skills, teamwork, and attentive patient care. Responsible for developing nursing care plans and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
