Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) specializing in obstetrics and postpartum care, located in Nebraska. The position involves working on a dedicated LDRP unit with 15 labor and delivery beds and 15 postpartum beds, providing high-quality patient care aligned with AWHONN guidelines. The role requires delivering compassionate care for obstetric, antepartum, post-surgical GYN, and pregnancy-related patients in a facility recognized for excellent patient experience.

Job Details:

  • Location: Nebraska, USA
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Start Date: 08/31/2026
  • Certifications Required: BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Educational & Experience Requirements: Valid nursing license, a minimum of 3 years of labor and delivery experience, with at least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
  • Additional Qualifications: Must possess a valid drivers license (used for radius verification), compliance with fingernail policies (artificial nails prohibited), and pass a skills exam with a 90% score during orientation; RNs are required to read telemetry strips, troubleshoot basic telemonitoring equipment, and titrate drips such as Pitocin, Mag, and Procardia
  • Operational Details:
    • Department follows AWHONN patient-to-ratio guidelines of 1:3, or 1:1 for laboring patients
    • Charge nurses oversee shifts and take assignments
    • Floating is rare and only in critical staffing situations, limited to task sit or assist roles
    • No tele/monitor techs are required to read strips or manage equipment beyond troubleshooting
    • Orientation includes one week of classroom training followed by 2-3 on-floor shifts
    • RTO (reimbursement time off) must be requested prior to the start and is limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract
    • Candidate must not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility
