Registered Nurse / Recovery Room Pediatrics

Job Summary:
The Pediatrics Recovery Room (PACU PEDS) specialty position is located in Portland, Oregon. This role involves providing post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in a dedicated stand-alone pediatric surgery department within a short-term acute care setting. The position requires flexibility to float between units and facilities to meet operational needs.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/31/2026
  • Required Qualifications: 1 year of experience in recovery room pediatrics, certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and experience charting in the Epic system. Oregon state licensure or pending licensure acceptable.
  • Special Requirements: Pediatric PACU experience and PALS certification are essential. Must have reliable transportation for the assignment.
  • Additional Information: The position involves caring for neonatal, adolescent, infant, and pediatric patients during preoperative and postoperative phases with a typical daily census of approximately 12 patients. The unit supports a variety of surgical specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, ENT, urology, plastics, dental, oral maxillofacial, endoscopy, ophthalmology, NICU, and PICU. Candidates should be willing to float within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals and must commit to working three of the five major holidays.
