Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical With Telemetry

Job Summary:
The neuro medical-surgical and telemetry registered nurse (RN) role is based in a neuro unit located in Marion, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized care to neuro and neuro-surgical patients, including stroke and post-operative cerebrovascular cases. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The assignment starts on 08/24/2026, with a duration of 13 weeks.

Job Details:

• Location: Marion, Illinois
• Schedule: 12-hour days, guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; minimum of two years of strong Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) experience, including at least one travel assignment; neuro experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor`s Degree in Nursing.
• Float: Could float to the medical unit.
• Additional Information: GSA hours may not be guaranteed during orientation; travelers are guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit may be closed. Candidates should be resilient, social, and adaptable to change. Scrub color is navy blue.
• Responsibilities: Provide neuro assessments, manage neuro and neuro-surgical patients with CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, and cerebral angiograms. Responsible for charting (EPIC experience required), executing neuro assessments including NIHSS and dysphagia screening, and handling various clinical procedures such as IV insertion, blood administration, NG tubes, drain management, and medication titration. Must demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
