Registered Nurse / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) nurse position in a Level 1 Trauma Facility within the healthcare provider. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including transplant procedures, in a fast-paced, high-level care environment. The position offers a rotating night shift schedule, with required scrub and circulate experience, and the opportunity to work within a prominent regional cardiovascular service line.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS. Pending license accepted at time of submittal.
• Education: BSN preferred.
• Location Requirements: Must be at least 75 miles from the facility.
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery; Level 1 trauma experience preferred; 1 year considered if in a Level 1 trauma facility.
• Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include scrub and circulate roles in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases, primarily involving transplant surgeries and complex cardio-thoracic procedures.
• Must have scrub experience for cardiovascular, thoracic, and transplant surgeries and circulating experience.
• Additional responsibilities include entering missing instruments into the CensiTrac system as discussed in orientation.
• Performance of emergent cases, rapid turnaround times, and maintaining high levels of care are essential.
• Must have sufficient level 1 trauma experience and transplant experience for night shift.
• The assignment duration is from 11/09/2026 to 02/08/2027.
• No RTO requests exceeding 7 days without prior approval.
• Travelers will float within scope as needed.
• Mandatory compliance with all required certifications, labs, and modules, with specific deadlines as communicated during onboarding.
