Registered Nurse / Post Partum Floor

Job Summary:
The posting is for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) on the Post Partum Floor (PP) in the Corpus Christi Bay Area. This role involves providing patient care in a busy obstetric and gynecologic setting, with responsibilities including routine assessments, fetal monitoring, vital signs, and finger sticks. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
• Shift: Day and Night Shifts available; 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Intrauterine Fetal Monitoring (IFM). Education requirements include a valid license to practice as a licensed vocational nurse. Prior experience in labor and delivery (L&D) is preferred. Candidates without these skills will not be considered.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the Companys electronic medical record systems, Meditech and CPN, and prior L&D experience.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, including weekends, with four shifts per 4-week schedule period
• Additional Information: The unit has 12 beds with a team of 9 RNs, 2 new graduates in orientation, and 1 nurse educator. Patient ratios are approximately 3-4 patients per nurse. Equipment includes Baxter intravenous (IV) pumps and GE fetal monitoring systems. The unit follows specific policies, accessible via provided links. Candidates should have an outgoing, eager, and confident personality.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to care for APU patients in the Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Postpartum (PP) areas.
• Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs.
