Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Float Position

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Float Registered Nurse (RN) in New Mexico. This temporary assignment involves providing inpatient nursing care on a general medical-surgical unit at a healthcare facility. The role requires flexibility to float between units, with a focus on delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Location: 2430 W Pierce St, Carlsbad, NM 88220
• Shift: Days, 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with floating and call requirement
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Two or more years of relevant experience, active BLS certification, and all candidates must have passed fingerprinting along with eligible registration with the state of New Mexico
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred
• Scope of Role: General medical-surgical nursing duties with occasional non-critical pediatric patient care on the floor
• Additional Information: The position involves unit-specific duties, flexibility to float across inpatient units, and adherence to facility policies on scrubs and electronic medical records (EMR system: MedHost). Scrub color may vary; no on-call schedule is required for this role, except for census flex on call prior to shift start in low census scenarios.
