Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Floor

Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical nursing is needed for a facility located in Henderson, North Carolina. This position involves providing patient care on a Medical Surgical floor and requires candidates to bring their nursing license on the first day. The role offers a nights shift schedule, with a minimum of 36 hours guaranteed each week.

Job Details:

• Location: Henderson, North Carolina
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; certified in the American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); at least 1 year of nursing experience, including at least 1 travel assignment; experience performing starting IVs, inserting Foley catheters, NG tubes, EKGs, and administering heparin drips.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing a 1:6 patient ratio with high turnover; ability to float as needed to inpatient rehab or ER.
• Additional Information: Candidates must reside at least 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered. The unit has 48 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. No call requirements; scheduled to work with no weekend hours specified. The unit uses the Paragon electronic health record system. The team is led by a supervisor named Kimberly Reed.
