Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Geriatric Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a long-term care facility located in Harmony, Minnesota. This position involves working on a specialized geriatric floor with a focus on medical-surgical care. The role offers variable shifts primarily during daytime or evening hours, with a schedule that includes rotating shifts of 8 and 12 hours. The nurse will provide clinical care in a 43-bed long-term care and clinic setting, supporting a team committed to high-quality patient care.
Job Details:
- Location: Harmony, Minnesota
- Position: Geriatric Medical Surgical RN
- Shift Schedule: 8/12-hour shifts, variable days/evenings, primarily evening shifts, with rotation required
- Schedule: Minimum of 36 hours per week, shift hours based on rotation (8 or 12 hours)
- Certifications: Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) License and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, including 1 year in long-term care, with proficiency in passing medications
- Charting: Matrix charting experience preferred
- Start Date: 07/27/2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Facility Details: 43-bed long-term care and clinic setting, with one nurse and two certified nursing assistants (CNAs) during night shifts; day and evening shifts include charge nurses responsible for treatments, medications, and narcotics
- Float Requirements: May be required to float to a nearby facility approximately 25 miles away as needed
- On Call/Call Back: Not required
- Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Additional Information: Candidate must start the medical portion of compliance within 48 hours of accepted offer, or 24 hours for a quick start. The role involves working in a resilient team environment, managing change effectively, and independently completing tasks in a social, fast-paced setting. Scrub colors should be work appropriate solids or prints. Orientation is guaranteed to set hours per week, except during holidays when the unit may be closed.
