Registered Nurse / Operating Room (First Assistant)

Job Summary:
Operating Room First Assistant (ORFA) position located in Lodi, California. This role involves organizing and facilitating patient care within the operating room, coordinating between surgical team members, and acting as a first assistant during surgical procedures. The position requires collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Completion of an RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) program meeting AORN standards; two years of perioperative nursing experience; RN licensure in the state of practice; Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification; Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience as an OR First Assistant; membership in the Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN)
  • Essential Functions: Performs circulating and scrubbing duties, confirms surgical site, maintains sterile techniques, handles tissues, clamps vessels, sutures tissues, places drains, assists with patient positioning, and ensures aseptic environment
  • Additional Information: Must develop and implement practice improvements, mentor staff, and improve operational efficiency. This role will begin on 08/17/2026 at the healthcare provider`s facility located at 975 South Fairmont Avenue, Lodi, California 95240.
