Registered Nurse / Progressive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Golden Valley, Minnesota. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, supervising direct care staff, and supporting patient safety initiatives. The role involves night shifts with a focus on both clinical assessment and patient education to facilitate smooth discharges and optimal outcomes.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification; two or more years of bedside clinical experience; valid licensure to practice as a registered nurse in Minnesota.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a progressive care or telemetry setting; strong clinical assessment skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Behavior Characteristics: Demonstrates professionalism, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach.
• Additional Information: Performs patient assessments within 8 hours of admission and develops individualized care plans. Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences, initiates discharge planning from day one, and provides patient and family education. Supervises ancillary nursing staff, delegates appropriately, and participates in team-building activities. Maintains communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical needs. Assumes charge responsibilities following orientation and actively pursues professional development.
