Registered Nurse / Medical Surgical Oncology Floor

Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Oncology Floor registered nurse (RN) position is located in a healthcare facility in Palo Alto, California. The RN will provide direct, evidence-based patient care within the scope of practice outlined by the California Nursing Practice Act, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and hospital policies. This role emphasizes compassionate, family-centered care, including patient assessment, care planning, implementation, education, and collaboration with the care team.
Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: CA-RN license, current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred, 1 year of nursing experience in medical-surgical or oncology nursing, and effective communication skills in English.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in outpatient oncology infusion and BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) oncology.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The nurse will create a healing environment, assess patient needs, educate patients and families, respond to emergencies, monitor practices for safety, and contribute to team building and continuous improvement activities.
