Registered Nurse / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart professional opportunity available in Saint Louis, Missouri. This position involves working within a fast-paced cardiac surgical unit, specializing in open heart procedures, transplants, and vascular surgeries. The role offers a comprehensive environment for experienced RNs to contribute to high-level cardiovascular care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, starting on 09/14/2026
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience in operating room open heart procedures; ALS and BLS certifications; Missouri or compact state license in hand at time of submittal; experience with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including transplant and Whipple procedures; scrub and circulate experience; preferred BSN.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac and thoracic cases, vascular (open and endovascular procedures), organ transplantation, and hybrid OR procedures; familiarity with EPIC charting system; experience in a Level I trauma facility.
• Additional Information: This position requires scrub and circulating duties, primarily dealing with cardiac and thoracic cases, as well as vascular surgeries. The unit is fast-paced with emergent cases, and management expects timely entry of missing instruments into the system. Night shift experience with heart and lung transplant is preferred for night shift roles. The ability to float within the service line may be required depending on unit needs.
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS are required. Candidates must verify that certifications are current and meet facility standards.
