Job Summary
Emergency Medical Technician (Paramedic), Emergency Medical Technician Grand Marais, Minnesota. The role supports emergency response and patient care within a rural, remote coverage area, requiring strong clinical judgment and the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days; 12-hour duty shifts (05451815) with a minimum of 36.0 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Minnesota State Paramedic Certification (OEMS); National Registry Certification (NREMT); American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) 100; FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) 200; FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) 700; FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) 800; valid drivers license with acceptable driving record; Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC/CEVO) or equivalent emergency vehicle operations course.
- Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac Arrest Life Support (CALS); Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Responsibilities: Participate in a structured multi-phase paramedic orientation/onboarding process (length dependent upon prior EMS experience, rural experience, and demonstrated competency); support emergency response operations and inter-facility transports in a remote, wilderness-based environment; provide overnight call coverage as scheduled.
- Call Requirements: Yesovernight call coverage typically scheduled from 18150545.
- Weekend Requirements: Likely; dependent upon operational needs and schedule rotation.
- Holiday Requirements: Possible; dependent upon operational needs and staffing.
- Additional Information: Experience in rural EMS, critical access healthcare, wilderness response, remote medicine, or long-distance transport environments is helpful, but not required.
