Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
The healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas. The position involves working night shifts in a 26-bed ICU unit specialized in surgical care, with a focus on trauma, post-cardiac surgery, and general post-surgical patients. The RN will provide high-quality care leveraging advanced equipment and adhere to established protocols in a dynamic environment.

Job Details:

• Location: 550 N. Hillside Avenue, Wichita, KS 67214
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; minimum 1-year current acute care hospital ICU experience; certifications including ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS; current work experience within the last two years in an ICU setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Trauma Nursing (TNCC); prior experience working at large trauma facilities; familiarity with advanced equipment such as balloon pumps, CRRT, Hypothermia protocols, and ECMO.
• Unit Details:
  • ICU/Surgical ICU with 26 beds and a staffing of 15 direct care professionals during day shifts and night shifts.
  • Typical procedures include trauma management, post-CABG, post-TAVR care, chest tubes, central lines, and medication drips.
  • PATIENT RATIOS: 1:2, and 1:1 for high acuity cases including post-CABG patients.
  • Equipment: Balloon pumps, CRRT, Hypothermia, ECMO.
  • EMR: Meditech.
• Responsibilities: Providing advanced critical care to surgical and trauma patients, managing complex equipment, following unit policies, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
