Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Medical (ICU Medical) nurse position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role involves providing specialized care within the Medical Intensive Care Unit at a level I trauma center. The position demands a proactive and adaptable nurse capable of working rotating shifts to meet unit needs and deliver exceptional patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
- Active, unencumbered Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Certification(s) such as CCRN highly desired
- Must pass EKG exam with 80% or better during orientation
- Valid licenses and certifications at the time of application submission and throughout the initial contract duration
- Two (2) or more years of full-time staff RN experience in a Medical ICU within a Level I Trauma Center prior to any travel assignments; CRRT experience highly desired
- Compliance must be completed no later than 10 days prior to the contract start date. Failure to submit compliance documentation timely will delay or cancel the assignment
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous travel experience in Hawaii highly preferred
- Experience floating to ICU, Stepdown, and Telemetry units based on facility needs
- Additional Information:
- Travelers may be assigned to roles such as nursing assistant or safety sitter when RN duties on their primary unit are not needed
- Must include a current Nursys report with submission
- Consistency with the specified start date is required for successful placement
