Registered Nurse / Step Down Unit
Job Description
Job Summary:
This position is for a Step Down Unit nurse in Quincy, Illinois. The role involves caring for a diverse patient population with needs such as dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow oxygen requirements, and behavioral patients requiring intravenous medication infusions. The unit features a 24-bed setup with a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 1:3 or 1:4 depending on patient acuity, and a collaborative educational team supports staff.
Job Details:
- Shift Time: Days
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts for a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: ACLS certification, BLS certification, NIHSS certification, minimum 2 years of experience in a step down or similar setting, current licensure to submit, and the ability to work up to every other weekend.

- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The unit utilizes the EPIC charting system. The care setting is acute, with a trauma level 2 designation. The position involves working closely with an educator on the unit to ensure high standards of patient care.
