Registered Nurse / Operating Room

Job Summary:
The Operating Room in Madison, Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced registered nurse for a Tier 5 position involving complex surgical cases including kidney transplants, hysterectomies, urological and gynecologic robotics, and other specialized procedures. The role offers day and evening shifts with 12-hour schedules, providing an opportunity to contribute to a leading medical facility with advanced equipment and interdisciplinary support.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/24/2026
• Required Qualifications: RN license valid in the state of Wisconsin; BLS certification from AHA; two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty; experience with abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, robotic surgery, trauma, and blood administration; proficiency with Epic charting system.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital experience, and trauma level I or II experience are preferred.
• Additional Information: The position involves float responsibilities as needed within a 50-mile radius. Candidates must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria on their first attempt, with up to two attempts permitted. The role includes working in a Magnet-recognized facility ranked as Wisconsins #1 hospital, known for comprehensive patient care and teaching excellence. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of inpatient RN experience in acute care within the last three years.
