Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Macon, Georgia. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, supervising healthcare staff, and ensuring safety and adherence to clinical standards. The RN will be responsible for assessing patients, developing individualized care plans, and supporting effective discharge planning within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS Certification (required prior to first shift), ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift), a minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience, and related education and certification as per population served criteria
  • Preferred Qualifications: Not specified
  • Performs a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans
  • Provides patient education and updates the care team with timely information for conferences and re-evaluations
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical record in accordance with hospital policies
  • Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and delivers direct patient care using the nursing process
  • Initiates discharge planning on the day of admission, including patient education for discharge readiness
  • Communicates patient status changes to team members, supporting continuity of care and patient safety
  • Provides supervision and direction to ancillary staff, delegating tasks appropriately
  • Maintains personal and environmental safety standards and participates in team-building activities
  • Coordinates with management regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical training needs
  • Assumes charge responsibility following orientation as requested
  • Engages in ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study
  • Prioritizes activities to meet patient needs effectively
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
