Registered Nurse / Operating Room Open Heart

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse specializing in Open Heart procedures in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care for cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries within a surgical unit equipped for complex cardiac interventions. The position is based at a healthcare facility located on the seacoast of New Hampshire, approximately one hour north of Boston and one and a half hours south of the White Mountains.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse, Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Operating Room experience, 3 years of relevant experience, flexibility in schedule, punctuality with a 30-minute callback time
• Preferred Qualifications: Ability to scrub cardio and vascular cases, experience with Meditech electronic medical record system
• Additional Information: The unit has 3 operating room suites with a team of 11 staff members, including a charge nurse, RN s, scrub techs, and aides. Typical procedures include CABG, valve surgeries, TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid endarterectomy, fistula creation, VATS, thoracotomy, fem-pop bypass, angiograms with interventions, LVAD, RVAD, and ECMO. Level 2 trauma coverage is provided for all vascular and thoracic procedures. Call requirements include approximately one weekend per month and 2-3 days a week. The unit emphasizes team-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible personnel.
