Registered Nurse / Operating Room

Job Summary:
Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Pennsylvania. This role involves providing professional nursing care within the perioperative setting, adhering to standards established by the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN). Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The position supports a rotating shift schedule, with shifts rotating through various start times, including 0630 to 1500, 0900 to 1730, and 1100 to 1930.

Job Details:

• Location: State College, Pennsylvania
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts with rotating start times, currently rotating through 0630 to 1500, 0900 to 1730, and 1100 to 1930. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Completed an accredited registered nurse program; BSN preferred
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • Two years of prior Operating Room experience required
  • Meets American Heart Association (AHA) standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews every two years
  • Meets American Heart Association (AHA) standards for Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and renews every two years

• Additional Information:
  • The position involves developing and implementing perioperative nursing care plans based on patient assessment
  • Ensures sterile technique and safety standards are maintained during surgical procedures
  • Provides preoperative teaching and education to patients and families
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends, scientific advances, biomedical equipment, and ethics related to perioperative nursing
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills and professionalism at all times
  • No minimum years of experience required beyond the specified two years of Operating Room experience
