Registered Nurse / Labor And Delivery Department

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a freestanding unit located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The role involves providing specialized care for laboring patients, with a focus on effective communication and friendly interaction. This opportunity is suitable for nurses seeking a dynamic environment with a blend of new and experienced colleagues in a high-engagement setting.

Job Details:

• Location: 4600 Spotsylvania Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22408
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS), current license in Virginia or eligible for licensure.
• Preferred Qualifications: Intermediate Fetal Monitoring and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are desirable.
• Unit Information:
  • Type of unit: Labor and Delivery (L&D) with 10 beds, 3 triage beds, and 2 operating room suites
  • Staff: 30 RNs on shift, including charge nurses, nursery nurses, and labor nurses
  • Typical procedures: Inductions, Cesarean sections, Spontaneous Vaginal Deliveries
  • Equipment: GE fetal monitoring, Novii Wireless fetal monitors, Spectrum IV Pumps, CADD epidural PCA pumps
  • EMR System: Meditech
• Personnel Profile: Most recruited for travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters
• Unit Culture: Engaged nursing team with a friendly atmosphere, featuring annual holiday celebrations and a playful mascot, the flamingo, representing the Pink Ladies.
• Additional Information: The unit encourages a welcoming environment for new team members and boasts a varied mix of experience levels among staff.
