Registered Nurse / Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position in Alton, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical and surgical conditions requiring intensive monitoring and intervention. The shift is scheduled for nights, with a focus on critically ill patients requiring advanced clinical skills.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid licensure in Illinois, 2 years of ICU experience, Certifications in ACLS and BLS, proficiency in arterial line management, ventilator management, IV start, and telemetry
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-arrest cooling protocols, IABP, CRRT, and neuro and cardiac critical care procedures
• Float: Float rotation may be required to medical, surgical, intermediate care, or step-down units
• Additional Information:
  The role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex diagnoses such as stroke, acute MI, arrhythmias, and drug overdoses. Procedures include central line placement, bronchoscopies, PEG tube management, and alveolar management. The unit staffing is four registered nurses by day and three at night, with additional staff as needed. Candidates should bring a lock for personal locker and a lunch or money for the cafeteria. Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted with the local rate.
