Conscious Sedation - Nursing

Description

We are seeking a skilled, vigilant, and patient-centered Conscious Sedation Nurse to join our procedural care team. In this specialized role, you will support patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that require moderate sedation, ensuring their safety, comfort, and physiological stability from pre-procedure assessment through recovery. Your expertise will help create a calm, well-coordinated environment where patients feel reassured and supported throughout the sedation process.

Your key responsibilities will include completing thorough pre-sedation assessments, reviewing medical histories, verifying NPO status, and identifying potential risk factors. During procedures, you will administer sedative and analgesic medications under provider supervision, continuously monitor vital signs, maintain airway safety, and document patient responses in real time. You will assist physicians and procedural teams with equipment setup, sterile techniques, and rapid intervention in the event of sedation-related complications. Post-procedure, you will guide patients through recovery, evaluate readiness for discharge, and provide clear education regarding aftercare and warning signs.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to remain composed during high-acuity or rapidly changing situations. Collaboration with physicians, anesthesia teams, and procedural staff is essential. Requirements and Qualifications

- Active RN license

- BLS certification (American Heart)

- Minimum of one (1) year of experience required for Olaro; individual facilities may require additional experience
